Download size ≠ installed size
A reported download package size doesn't necessarily equal the space your console needs during installation. Updates, temporary files and storage formatting may change what you actually need.

What those numbers mean.
Leave room for updates
The extra buffer is your own planning allowance, not a Rockstar specification. Start with 15 GB and increase it if you'd like more headroom.
Mbps is not MB/s
Internet speed is usually measured in megabits per second. This calculator converts bits to bytes and uses a conservative 80% throughput assumption for planning—not a speed guarantee.
03 / VERIFIED FACTS & FREQUENT QUESTIONS
Before you clear your games.
Is GTA 6 officially 210 GB on PS5?
No. A PlayStation Store tracking account reported 210 GB on October 27, 2026. Beebom reported that number, but Rockstar's published support materials did not confirm a final download or installed size when we checked October 29, 2026.
What size should Xbox Series X or S players enter?
The official Xbox size has not been established. Select Xbox and enter a hypothetical download size to plan available storage. The 210 GB default is an editable scenario only—not an Xbox leak or official requirement.
When can I preload GTA 6?
Rockstar states preloading starts at local midnight on November 12, 2026, with release scheduled for November 19, 2026. Check your console store for account-specific availability and actual download requirements.
Will an external USB drive be enough?
Modern console games may require specific internal or approved expansion storage to play. Check your console's official storage guidance before buying a drive; simply having free USB disk space does not establish compatibility.
Is this a guaranteed installation time?
No. This is a download-time estimate from the scenario size and internet speed you enter. Actual server speed, network conditions, unpacking and installation steps can add time.
